RSVP Now! Interactive Film Screening 10/24
Circles of Support is partnering with Fit the Description to host a screening of their documentary interview project, a video series that explores identity and perspective through intimate, honest conversations between black male police officers and civilians. Fit the Description utilizes the power of conversation, storytelling, and the exploration of identity as a pathway to creating change. Stepping away from polarizing rhetoric and biased mainstream media portrayals, these conversations aim to create a safe space for asking difficult questions: How do black male police officers navigate their identities while in and out of uniform? And how do black male civilians see themselves in the presence of police?
More than just a screening, this will be a live, interactive storytelling event that promises to challenge assumptions and spark curiosity. A facilitated panel featuring members of our Speakers Bureau will help shape the conversation, and audience members will be invited to participate.
The screening will be held on October 24 from 7:00-9:00 pm with a reception to follow, at St. Phillips Church.** For more information about the project, please check out their website and watch the trailer below.
